About this course
Did you buy that fancy DSLR camera with the intention of really learning how it works? Do you want to take better photos of your horse (or pet/family/interests)? Does the idea of leaving the comfort of Automatic Mode overwhelm you? With some guidance, practice, and patience, you can be in control of your camera and take your photos to the next level.
Whether you are taking this course as a fun hobby, to capture your kids competing at shows, or to just record and appreciate the elegance (or goofiness) of your horse, you’ll be provided with the knowledge and understanding to do so. Perhaps you don’t want to pay for professional photos from horse shows and want to capture the action yourself. Maybe you are just a hobbyist with an eye for photography and a love of horses. If you don't have a horse but just want to learn the fundamentals of photography and how your camera works, that's great. No horse needed!
This course will give you the tools you need to become a better photographer, with a focus on how to capture great shots of the horses in your life.
Students will learn how to properly compose photos and get more familiar with their cameras. By the end of the course, you'll have the skills needed to shoot in full manual mode, allowing for greater control and leaving you happier with your photos.
You'll need a DSLR camera (and manual), memory card - 8 GB or higher and a standard lens. No need for fancy zoom lenses. Whatever came with your camera should be fine. Camera make/model do not matter. As long as you are able to adjust the camera's shutter speed, aperture, and ISO controls, it will work. If you no longer have your manual you can usually find them online. Alternatively, the info you'll need to set your camera up will be available online.
